It took us a year to find Scotty, and who knew it was going to be in Arkansas!!! Believe me, searching sites on many occasions just to find that the one you wanted has been sold, or it’s a scam or simply the actual RV is very different to the picture shown in the advert, is a difficult and disappointing exercise; and to top it off, I was doing it 7,000 Km away from home in Spain…. what a task!!
Once I was told…. you need to find the floor plan that you want, then define your budget, then set some things you want (in our case it was a diesel pusher, side radiator, 1 1/2 baths, my preferred color scheme – silver and black – 40 ft long and enough accommodation for our children as they come see us). In early September we landed in New York, we went to see a few rigs but then the one we wanted happened to be in Conway, Arkansas and it was owned by a great man (Dr Sam) who took great care of it while in his possession.
That being said, having found the RV in Arkansas, this state would become the starting point of our adventure throughout the United States of America.

T-5…4…3…2…1…GO!!
After a few visits to Walmart and Kohl’s to buy all you need for a new house, it was time to leave town ( Conway) so we headed to nothing more and nothing less than the Ozarks RV resort at Table Rock! Those who’ve seen the series from Netflix should be familiar with this lake and national forest. At arrival I asked where Marty Byrde was ( just kidding ).
Well, that was the first 150 miles driving Scotty. What impresses me the most is the view through the massive windshield, the soft ride and how silent it is inside! Having the engine at the back is truly amazing.

Legacy in the making
This adventure wouldn’t be completed if we don’t include an activity that becomes a legacy for the new generations, so how about planting trees along the way! Our target is to plant a tree in every state; that is 49 plus Canada… 50 trees in total!
Well, thanks to the Forest Dept of Arkansas and to Sam and his son Reagan and lovely wife Meagan who made it possible to plant a healthy Oak in their grounds, we made history by planting the first out of 50 trees….
