Montana

At the moment of the publication of this article, the town of Jasper (Alberta, Canada) has been engulfed in flames due to wildfires originated by lightning and thunderstorm. It is heartbreaking to hear this bad news of the destruction of such a beautiful city and surrounding areas of the park. Our thoughts are with the people who have been affected.

Having left Canada behind, it feels like Mother Nature had stamped a seal of inexplicable splendor upon us due to the beauty of all provinces put together…. British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta and its National Parks…. truly a fantastic feeling. We hope to see some more next year when we visit the North East of the US and if we cross the border, we could visit Nova Scotia, Quebec or Ontario for instance!!

But it was time to come back to the US and visit nothing more and nothing less than Montana!! And here’s where Scotty and its companion feel at home since they are registered in this state;

And the landscape is equally breathtaking in Montana.

We crossed the border through Eureka and we spent a night at the very nice Indian Springs RV Resort

In Yukon we had a campground with an airstrip included; well, this one came with a golf course in it!!

It’s interesting to read about the Historic Marks that you find along the road; most of them tell you a story about Indian believes, others about ancestors making a crossing through the specific areas in search of new territories

Long and extensive prairies is what you see on the northern part of Montana ( and lots of cattle !!).

As we have been on the road for so long doing the Canada – Alaska – Canada crossing, we decided that it was time just to relax and slow down on sightseeing and stay in a city; this city was Glasgow and its musseum. Glasgow reminds us of Glasgow in Scotland, the largest city of the country, just a couple of hours of our home in Aberdeen.

This is a T33 jet, widely used as a Fighter Jet pilot training

Beautiful and meticulously made steam engine; I bet those who play or collect trains will love to see this very well made example!

A model representation of a Montana dwelling at the time

A good picture to show the new generation how communication was done back in the day when we had to call the operator!!

And this is the closest (and we are glad!!) we could get to a Grizzly bear…. they are huge!!

Can I have a beer mate……..

A very well preserved Tepee ( or Teepee?)

Finally, believe it or not it was so hard to find a tree in Montana!! All tree nursery shops were closed for the season as they will open only until Spring so we had to break the rule this time and get an indoor plant

And this is Rob (GM of the Cottomwood Inn RV resort and Hotel in Glasgow) who was kind enough to accommodate the new plant in his own office!! Thanks Rob!

It looks like we have done half the country already!!

See you in the next chapter of American Adventure #3
