The second state in our American Expedition #4 is Wisconsin, well known for its geography, culture and ranking among the top 10 states in the country.
But, I have to confess, we should have dedicated more time to this visit which ended up being rather short and this is because we faced some delays in Illinois due to planned maintenance on the Ford and Scotty so the days allocated to Wisconsin fell short unfortunatelly.
We even had to cancel a golf outing with our friends of 25 years, Ramu and Letha who live in Milwaukee. But, a good dinner was in the planner and we had a great time with them!!

Something that called our attention was how the name of the state ( and river) has changed over the years!!
- Miskonsing
- Meskousing
- Meskous
- Miskous
Finally in 1845 the name of Wisconsin was adopted.

Finding a campground right in a city is not very common; well, not in this case as we stayed at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in Milwaukee; very central and convenient.
And precisely in that state fair park was where we planted the tree for Wisconsin, thanks to the kindness and good spirits of Val, the camp supervisor who helped us every step of the way!!

State number 28th and counting
On our next episode, state number 29th, the jewel of the crown is……
Mackinac Island!!
This and much more in the next chapter.
Thanks for reading!!
