The other day I had a pretty serious conversation face to face with Scotty…

Alright Scotty, I’ve taken you to all the places you wanted…. mountain, prairies, forest, planes, glaciers, hills, valleys, canyons…..

Now I want you to take us to an area we love so much… the Southern East Coast and the corridor along the ICW ( Intracoastal Waterways) in particular cause there is something I haven’t told you about… the love I have for another hobby of mine…. BOATS!!!. but don’t you worry… I love you as much as I love them!!!

It looks to me that we kind of like the smell of the Atlantic Ocean and because of that, we arrive in Myrtle Beach, which for years has been known as the premier vacation destination in SC.

Call it lucky or not, in 1954 Hurricane Hazel demolished buildings and trees along the Grand Strand, clearing the way for new hotels and homes. During the rebuilding phase of the 1960s, a golf boom began, with new courses being built each year. The number of golf courses along the Grand Strand now totals around 115. Now I think I should’ve played there at least one round!!

As I make the campground reservation, the lady said to me…. I’m sure you’ll love it Mr Lopez….. Upon arrival I could see she was completely right!! Briercliff RV resort, beautiful; and as an added bonus, it is just next to Barefoot Landing Shopping and Restaurant. And!!! not only that!. The Intracoastal Waterway passes right behind the site. This is a good beginning then. More of the ICW later, I won’t forget.

Anyway, back to serious stuff; we then went to the city and got to know the few attractions that make it a proper family vacation destination.

We also wanted to visit a park / trial and we found a good one right by the ICW too

One shall always save turtles and cyclists from disaster so we better put this turtle in a better, safer secluded place

There is another place I hear about on social media related to nice places to visit; it is sort of “posh”; that is Hilton Head Island

Have you wondered where this name comes from?

Here’s the story: English Captain William Hilton, in August of 1663, while exploring the Port Royal Sound, sighted the high bluffs of the Island, and named it for himself, “Hilton Head.” The word “Head” refers to the headlands visible to them as they sailed the uncharted waters. He lingered several days, making note of the trees, crops, and also the sweet water and clear sweet air.

And thanks for the recommendation of a friend of mine, the very RV avid Steve and his wife Sue from Port St Lucie, he recommended to us that we should stay at the Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort; simply beautiful!!
