After the scorching temperatures in Annapolis and Washington DC precisely when we would have preferred fresh weather ( lots of walking outside) we arrive to New Jersey just to find it rainy, foggy, cool. It was the first long weekend, known as the beggining of the summer holidays in the US, Memorial Day and will be remembered as one of the wettest on record… poor kids!! They were so looking forward for the swimmping pool, bike rides, etc at the campgrounds but Mother Nature had different plans for all of us.

Funny, but we never saw a blue sky in NJ.
It was just time to visit a truck maintenance shop and replace some front suspension bushings… nothing major but a bit of annoying noise coming from below.

We decided to stay close to Atlantic City, a place we wanted to visit. We have heard so much about it particularly in regard to casinos!! Off we went to the city and try our luck!

The city is a mini mini version of Las Vegas but still you can see a few casinos. We tried Tropicana!

Interior of the casino; by the way… the blue sky is just a painted roof

Well, this one didn’t go well, did it!! We lost $60 in the first 10 minutes of us trying our luck in games

With a “loser” sticker in our foreheads, we left the casino and went to enjoy a delicious crepe

Atlantic City is also famous because of its boardwalk. The visit was naturally, wet

If was time to continue our journey south bound to Delaware and that meant we had to take a ferry from Cape May to Lewes DE. The passage was very interesting, first time we are on board a vessel that navigates with a visibility of just 200 ft ( 60 mtrs).

Glad the sea condition was of calm waters, otherwise Claudia wouldn’t have been that happy with me 😂
Tree number 46 was planted at the Adventure Blueberry campground

There I am with Tracy who was proud to have been chosen as the carer for this lovely Cypress that one day will serve as the Christmas Tree for the campground!!
