Delaware

Grey clouds, rain and cool temperatures continue in the area and Delaware is no exception.

The crossing by ferri was ” interesting ” to say the least!

The captain actually had to blow the horn every 5 minutes during the whole passage

Once we got all set at the campground, we drove to Lewes which claims to be the first city of the first state!!! Dutch settlers established Zwaanendael (meaning “Swan Valley”) initially as a whaling station. The colony lasted just a year before it was completely wiped out by local Native American tribes due to a dispute over a Dutch coat of arms.

A few miles down the road you find a nice beach ( Savannah Beach).

Not really a fan of beaches in the cold…

Back at the campground it was time to get the Blackstone Griddle into action

The following day we took the chance and drove 45 minutes to visit an Air Museum. Well, it was time and fuel wasted as there was only visits from Thursday onwards

Geoff ( GM from the campground) wanted us to appear posing in front of his pirate ship

And that was it!! This was Delaware, a state that attracts many billionaires and corporations due to favorable corporate laws and tax regimes.
