Not so long ago we used to watch a TV series named ” Chesapeake Shores” which tells the story of a large family and their daily lives, supposedly filmed in that area. As we make the passage, this picture came to our minds ( sadly one of the main characters actually died so we don’t know if the series continues or not).

If you are in Delaware and want to head south to Virginia, you either go around Chesapeake Bay or you take a shortcut through a series of tunnels and bridges. In the RV world, it is an adventure to do it this way. This is the CBBT (Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel)

The complete passage spans 17.6 miles between bridges and tunnels.

Prior to enter the chain of bridges and tunels you’ll be asked to shut the LPG valve, that’s it!! Only thing you need to have is nerves of steel as room inside are tight for such a beast !!

A few years ago, our son Jaime the Third ( remember, we have grandpa Jaime I, dad Jaime II and son Jaime III 😂) spent 6 months in Richmond as part of his International Business Management college degree and he speaks very well about that region; that being said, Richmond was in the list and also a place we have heard about which seemingly is a must see ( I’d say… a must sweat, particularly in bicycle!!): the Virginia Beach boardwalk.

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is exactly 3 miles long. It stretches for 40 blocks along the oceanfront. The path is paved, 28 feet wide, and features a separate, parallel lane for biking and rollerblading. Ok, I take it, we need to do exercise but man….. I wish they had e-bikes for rental!!! It was neat though!!

After so much phisycal activity we came back to the campground ( which by the way it is the best KOA we have ever stayed at, so after much anticipation, it was time to enjoy a good swim!

No, it’s not a photoshop; it’s the small man sitting on a gigantic chair!!

Next day and as promised, we went on the search for the Virginia Commonwealth University and we found it!!

The tradition says you should blow the horn and say ” go ram” in order to be part of the VCU family!!

My “go ram” goes more like…. taaaa taaaaa taaa 😂 it reminds me of the martians on the Mars Attack movie…

This is the Science and Business halls

Our son said he used to spend hours and hours studying in group right here….. but what he didn’t tell us was what they’d do after hours!! 🍻 🍻 🍻 ( just joking but yes, we imagine 😆 )

Once we toured the university, we went to a really good restaurant.

Founded in 1990 Bottom’s Up Pizza began as a tiny, 12-seat shop in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Bottom. Today, it is a massive local institution renowned for its thick, airy sourdough crusts and heavily loaded, gourmet pizzas

They even gifted us nice sunglasses 😎

A nice Cypress numbered as 47 was planted at the campground and Virginia, Events Coordinator was right there for the picture!

And this was Virginia!! Nice state, kind people.

Next, we will step on the grounds where the very first airplane took off for a flight that lasted just 59 seconds…. North Carolina!
